Use it or lose it

We had a great mother’s day weekend. We did a little double dipping and made the trip home serve two purposes. First, and most importantly, we were able to spend some time with my mother and the rest of my family. This has been a very significant mother’s day for reasons I don’t want to discuss – not right now anyway. Second, we were able to go to a wedding of some good friends and catch up with some old friends. The ceremony was beautiful – we had a blast.

To top it all off we were able to take a bump from one of our return flights and earn a little $$ in the form of travel vouchers. You gotta love overbooking. But wait, there’s more. While we were waiting for our final flight, a lady tapped Jeanna on the arm to ask her what time it was. Jeanna noticed that the lady was speaking Spanish and that she had said that she wanted to know the time because her watch was still set to Spain time.

The lady was indeed going to Hershey to visit her daughter who lives there. Over the next hour and a half we were able to carry on a conversation with Sofia which only whet our appetite to practice our Spanish even more. It made us feel good to know that the money and time we spent in Central America can still be put to use. Long story short, our plane was delayed so we were able to translate all of the gate announcements to Sofia while we waited. After we arrived in Hershey, we met her daughter and, get this, she works part time at the school as well. Once again, the trip reveals what a small world it truly is.

I have a few web-related computer tips that I’m gonna post in a few days so stay tuned.
